Beverly Children's Learning Center (BCLC) has quietly served more than 12,000 low-income, high-risk children in Beverly, MA, for 45 years. Many come to us hungry, and we provide them with the majority of food they receive for the day.

Beverly Children’s Learning Center provides an affordable, safe environment to all children so that they receive the quality education, nurturing care, good nutrition, creative and physical activities they need to grow and thrive. Good nutrition, health and wellness are critical components of our programs that serve up to 250 at-risk, low-income children each year. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner are part of the more than 100,000 meals we serve every year.

Many of these children come to school hungry. Studies show that low-income neighborhoods have higher rates of obesity and malnutrition and that early childhood programs – like BCLC – can be used to prevent obesity and encourage healthy eating habits. And when the children have tasty, satisfying and nutritious food they are more able to settle down to learn and play.

Your generosity can help pay for these meals. 

BCLC’s annual budget just for food is $100,000. Government subsidies cover only a tiny fraction of the total cost, so we rely on the generosity of others to feed these children.
