Family Outreach of Amherst's Mission to Bring Hope

Bringing hope to struggling families

A fundraising campaign for Family Outreach of Amherst CHD

Sometimes hope can be hard to find, especially these days. However, at Family Outreach of Amherst we see powerful examples every day of how hope, coupled with determination and courage, helps fuel a struggling family’s journey towards a better life. Each family we work with has a unique story. Here are a few examples.

- An undocumented pregnant teen whose child will need surgery when it’s born needs advocacy and support.

A young mother who fled her abusive boyfriend needs help finding safe shelter and legal advocacy.

A homeless single father determined to create a good life for his child needs help working  towards housing and job readiness.

An addicted mother needs support as she works towards sobriety and reunification with her children.

What these stories have in common is the fierce hope these parents have that their children will have safe, happy, healthy lives. In each situation, as in 450 others like them, a caseworker from FOA was there as the parent worked hard to make a better life for themselves and their children.

Whether it was helping them access resources, coaching them to become their own best advocate, or simply being there as a sounding board as they made difficult decisions, they could always turn to FOA for support.

You can make a difference. By giving to FOA today you can help a family turn that hope for their children into tangible, real action. Become the light in a family’s life! Please give today and help them keep their hope alive.

Sincerely,

Laura Reichsman

FOA Director
