Faith Build

Together, Thrivent and Habitat for Humanity help families in need of a safe and decent place to call home.

See the miracle of your ministry in action

Habitat for Humanity and Thrivent Faith Builds bring local churches together to raise roofs, walls, funds and prayers to build a house in partnership with the Chavez Family!

It’s an opportunity to live out your church’s ministry, engage your members and see the miracle that occurs when God touches the hearts of new homeowners and the volunteers who work alongside them.

I know that God is sending people

my way to be a blessing to me

and my family. —Tia R. Homeowner

Join us for a life-changing experience!

Since 2005, Habitat and Thrivent have partnered to help make affordable housing and better communities a reality for families, like Tia’s. We invite your church to be part of this Faith Build.

Turn faith into action

  • Churches commit to partnering in the Faith Build.

  • Church members generously volunteer their time, helping with

    construction—or nonconstruction—activities.

  • Churches participate in the Faith Builds Generosity Challenge:

Thrivent provides up to 50% of the home cost.

Churches are challenged to raise the remaining home cost.

  • A local family moves into a new home!

How your church benefits

A Faith Build gives your church members a concrete way to put their faith into action and see tangible results. But that’s just the beginning. It also:

  • Builds community within your church.

  • Empowers church members to serve in the

    community.

  • Gives people of faith an opportunity to engage
in construction and nonconstruction activities and be the body of Christ in the world.

  • Helps build community among Christian churches.

Choose how to serve

There are many ways for church members to get involved in a Faith Build on and off the construction site:

  • Organize on-site volunteer days for your church members.

  • Make a financial contribution.

  • Organize a fundraising activity.

  • Provide lunch for on-site workers.

  • Create a welcome basket or other special items for the family.

  • Participate at ground-breaking and dedication events.

  • Form a prayer group.

Together, we can help a family begin a journey to strength, stability and independence through affordable housing!

About the Organization

Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns

Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns (HFHEB) envisions a world where everyone has a decent place to call home. For 25 years HFHEB has put God’s love into action, to bring people together to build homes, communities and hope. Throughout this time Habitat has served more than 50 families with zero foreclosures in Sheridan County.

1 in 10 Wyoming families pay more than 50% of their income on a place to live, making the critical need for affordable housing evident. We serve families whose income is 30 percent to 60 percent of the current median income, as defined by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development for Wyoming. HFHEB provides approved applicants with a no interest loan and provides a monthly mortgage that, including taxes and insurance, does not exceed more than 30% of their gross monthly income.
Habitat homeowners help build their homes alongside volunteers and staff. From their time of approval into the homeownership program to the completion of their homes partner families dedicate 250 “sweat equity” hours on their own or others houses, providing...
