The National Women’s Defense League (NWDL) is a new organization dedicated to preventing sexual harassment and protecting survivors in state politics by changing policies and systems. NWDL will create advocacy infrastructure to address this harassment, developing national state strategies, coordinating advocates, and resourcing survivors. NWDL fills in gaps using research, coalition building, trauma-informed care, and legislative advocacy to create sustainable support for survivors, while changing policies to prevent harassment and protect survivors.
NWDL is a fiscally sponsored project of the Center for Transformative Action, a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization. The Center for Transformative Action (CTA) supports change makers in creating communities that are ecologically sound, socially just and work for everyone. CTA is an independent 501(c)3 organization affiliated with Cornell University since 1971. It is located on the original land of the Gayogohó:no’ (Cayuga) Nation.
