Your organization’s constituents are like family – your “inner circle.” They are often the best source for donors, volunteer leaders, insight, and ambassadors. Learn how to develop and implement a constituent engagement plan that:

  • Deepens relationships with constituents

  • Results in increased engagement, including giving, from constituents

Joan Bahner is a Senior Consultant at Lighthouse Counsel and brings decades of higher education experience, including serving as alumni director and vice president for advancement at Fisk University. She has served on the Council for Advancement and Support of Education International Board of Trustees and CASE National Commission on Alumni Relations.

Gail Glasser is a Senior Consultant at Lighthouse Counsel and has thirty years of leadership experience in strategic planning, major gifts, capital campaigns, annual campaigns, planned-giving, integrated communication, and board development. She is the Director of Philanthropic Outreach for a national nonprofit and is responsible for transformational fundraising growth and guidance in six states.

About the Organization

Mid-Hudson Valley Association of Fundraising Professionals

Formed in early 2006, the Mid Hudson Valley Chapter is one of the newest chapters of the International AFP. Prior to our existence, AFP members had to travel to the Capital Region or New York City to attend chapter events.

Our chapter provides resources to fundraising professionals who serve approximately 4,500 public charities registered in the six counties in the Mid Hudson Valley including Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, and Ulster.

Our member benefits and activities include:

AFP of the Mid Hudson Valley often works in collaboration with other professional development organizations in the area to organize educational opportunities of the highest quality through pooling of resources.

• Regular web/audioconferences on topics of interest to fundraising professionals, board members and othernonprofit managers. These conferences are provided by International AFP and are hosted by chapter members in locations around the six county area of the Mid Hudson Valley.
