As a nonprofit religious organization, The Sri Venkateswara Temple Pittsburgh PA, always puts its mission of caring for and engaging our devotees as our topmost priority.
The SV Temple is regarded as the Tirumala of Americas and is visited by thousands of visitors every year from far and near including USA, Canada and India. And frankly, it’s amazing what our staff and volunteers do with the resources we have, working around the clock with the utmost professionalism and integrity.
Every year we donate to several needy organizations in North America as well as in India. We also donate food to local food banks and regularly organize ‘annadanams’ and provide free. food to all visitors. We also have a tradition to donate generously to disaster victims in North America and across the world. We organize special ‘Aradhanas’ including – Sri Tyagaraja Aradhana, Sri Purandaradasa Aradhana, Sri Azhwar Aradhana, Sri Annamacharya Aradhana, Sri Swati Tirunal Sangeethotsavam and host leading musicians from India. We also invite several young and talented Carnatic and Hindustani musicians and organize lectures by visiting religious and spiritual scholars from India and USA every year. These events are a part of SV Temple’s mission to preserve and spread Vedic heritage and spirituality.
During this year we performed two major religious events – Sri Mahalakshmi Kumkum Yagnam and Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabhdhi and we hosted the annual meeting of the Hindu Temples Society of America. We introduced ‘green’ bio-degradable containers for food.
We are also looking to expand and enhance our facilities to offer better facilities to devotees visiting SV Temple. As a charitable, religious organization, SV Temple depends on the generosity of devotees to support its mission of providing a place of worship for Hindus and help preserve Indian culture and heritage.
Your tax-deductible gift will go a long way in supporting this mission and ensuring that every devotee feels welcome at SV Temple.
