Kenzo’s Story: A Bright Start

Kenzo’s life began with unimaginable challenges. Born with DiGeorge syndrome, he spent the first eight months in the hospital and underwent heart surgery at just two weeks old. For his parents, Karla and James, the future felt uncertain.

Then they found Beyond Blindness.

Through nearly a year of early intervention services in their home, Kenzo made incredible progress—sitting up, taking his first steps, improving motor skills, and learning emotional regulation. He eventually transitioned to on-campus early learning services, and today, he’s a thriving, joyful two-year-old.
