The Elevating Youth Voices crowdfunding campaign supports local Chicago youth leaders who have taken action to address an issue in their community. These youth leaders have great ideas, a strong voice, and they are committed to working hard to make their communities stronger and safer. But they cannot do it alone.
These deserving youth leaders need your help! Your gift to the Elevating Your Voices crowdfunding campaign will go directly to helping youth from five organizations who have demonstrated outstanding impact and potential.

- You can help Arab American youth combat the negative impact of racial profiling.
- You can help low-income youth from Belmont-Cragin have access to safe transportation to and from school, after-school programs, and home.
- You can help youth struggling with mental health issues create a series of podcasts and videos for other youth about how to cope with mental illness in healthy ways.
- You can help formerly court-involved youth lead empathy workshops with new Chicago Police Department recruits.
- You can help Latinx youth entrepreneurs from Pilsen launch their own photo booth business to support teen programs at the National Museum of Mexican Art.

With 100 days to go, we are nearly 30% of the way to our goal to raise $10,000 to invest in Chicago youth leaders!

Recently, on Saturday, June 1 over 100 youth leaders from across Chicagoland came together for the Elevating Youth Voices Fair, a once-in-a-lifetime gathering of the next generation of leaders of our city and our world, hosted in celebration of Bright Promises Foundation’s 150th Anniversary.
At the Elevating Youth Voices Fair, youth leaders shared how they are working to improve their communities through interactive displays and performances. For the youth leaders who participated in the Elevating Youth Voices Fair, the experience was both fun and valuable. Youth leaders made new connections and met other youth who are also working hard to make their communities stronger and safer.

For the hundreds of community members who attended the Elevating Youth Voices Fair, the experience was also inspirational and motivational. “I don’t know about you, but I spend a lot of time worried about issues like gun violence and climate change, and generally feeling like the future has the potential to be a dark and scary place,” John-Michael, a fair volunteer shared; “After seeing so many youth-led organizations today and listening to what they have to say, I’m way less worried about what’s coming, and more interested in giving kids more power TODAY. We don’t have to wait for the next generation of artists and activists to grow up—they’re already out there working. Instead, it’s our responsibility as adults to keep lifting them up and creating spaces for them to thrive.”
