Dolores Saxton-Walker Scholarships

Educating our new generation of leaders and minority business owners.

CBOF53: Connecting the Dots...

This year's Chicago Business Opportunity Fair is unlike any other since its inception. As our nation faces an incredibly daunting challenge to change the fabric of our society, it is crystal clear that we need real leaders - diverse, worldly, intelligent, and willing to fulfill a critical need for civic action.

The late Dolores Saxton-Walker was a successful entrepreneur who worked diligently on behalf of the mission of ChicagoMSDC.  She understood the importance of developing future entrepreneurs by supporting students with excellent academic achievement and leadership skill.  ChicagoMSDC's Minority Business Enterprise Input Committee established the Dolores Saxton-Walker Scholarship in honor of her commitment to develop young leaders.

Award recipients receive $3,000 toward college tuition and/or expenses.  It is our goal each year to increase the number of students that we recognize.  This year we will award 10 students with scholarships thanks to the generosity of great individuals, supporters of last year's golf scholarship classic fundraiser and very special minority business owners.

Due to COVID-19 our golf classic - the Council's biggest scholarship fundraiser event - is uncertain this year.  So we are fundraising online to provide scholarships for 10-12 CPS student leaders for next year.  We need to raise as least $30,000.

Please donate to the campaign You can make a small donation or sponsor a full or partial scholarship.  All donations are welcomed and appreciated.
