A fundraising campaign for SNIPSA

We saw some spectacular strays donning their best apparel at this year's Mutt Gala!

The rescues featured on our red carpet have been healing from various medical issues that SNIPSA and STVS have been working diligently to treat. Read on to learn about these fashionable rescue dogs and the obstacles they have overcome.

Who's that pup in pink? It's none other than our Lady! SNIPSA rescued this little red Chihuahua off the city's euthanasia list just hours before her time. She had been surrendered with a large ulcerated mass in her chest and an unexpected benign tumor in her spleen. With the hope of turning her life around, we outsourced a surgical procedure from SVTS to remove her tumors. Sadly, she has since developed several more. While we don't know if Lady has two months or ten years left earthside, we are doing all we can to help her. Lady has been on a cocktail of medications in addition to chemotherapy.

In light of her cancer, Lady is a funny soul who will happily share all your snacks. She is friendly towards everyone and bonds strongly with her chosen person. Lady also enjoys car rides, short walks and cuddles in the bed. We know that there is a special person out there who can give her the love she deserves. Please consider opening your heart to Lady by adopting her or making a donation towards her continued care.

We're seeing some hippie realness with Dorothy's fabulous fit! Finally, this rad rescue has found some peace after suffering her whole life from an ectopic ureter. This condition occurs when the ureter does not properly tie into the bladder and goes straight into the urethra. This causes the animal to continuously leak urine, which is no way to live! After undergoing corrective surgery from STVS, this wonderful soul is on her way to a better future. No more discolored fur, smelly parts, doggie diapers or general discomfort -- Dorothy can now be the lap dog she was designed to be!

This total sweetheart is eager to give her love to her new family. She is cuddly, social and submissive by nature. Could you see a potential friend in Dorothy, or spare a few dollars to help cover her hospital bills?

It's giving old money, and Odette is going to fake it until she makes it! This "mini" Great Dane has not always enjoyed a life of luxury. Odette was rescued after being presumably hit by a car. Her x-rays showed a fractured radius and ulna, as well as a traumatic tear to her ACL. Thanks to the help of SVTS, her front leg was repaired with a metal bone plate and lots of screws! Odette has made a swift recovery, though she will need to have her knee repaired down the road.

For now, this darling girl spends her hours as a "couch potato" in her foster home. She has put on some much-needed weight and her coat has become incredibly lustrous. Once broken and defeated, Odette has become a fantastic specimen of a dog! Her docile personality and regal appearance will make her the highlight of your home, provided you have the room to accommodate her large size. Adopt or sponsor Odette today!

She's royalty, all right, but our Princess Picatta came from humble beginnings! This adorable girl was faced with euthanasia back in March after being bitten by another dog. Her prior owners were unable to provide the veterinary care needed and surrendered her to a local shelter as a result. Suffering from a dislocated and bilaterally broken lower jaw, PP was in great need of our help!

SNIPSA took her in and sent her off to SVTS, where their skilled surgeon reset her jaw and installed an external fixator. Within hours, PP was eating and playing again! She spent several weeks recovering in a foster home before having the device removed. Last week, she found her forever family and she now spends her time exploring the yard and playing with the kids.

We would not have been able to rehabilitate PP without financial help from our community. Please donate to help us in our rescue mission!

"I can fix him..." That's what SNIPSA said when we laid eyes on this hipster dude! Gilligan won us over with his handsome looks and stellar personality back in November of 2023. When we brought this boy into our program, we learned that he was born with crummy hips resulting in in early hip dysplasia. Noticing Gilligan's difficulty getting around, we set him up to receive a double femoral head osteotomy (removal of both femoral heads) at STVS. These procedures helped to strengthen Gilligan's legs and subsequently avoid arthritis.

After two surgeries and 72 days in foster care, this lucky boy started over in a loving home. His two surgeries have set him up to live a pain-free life with his new people. Help us offset the costs associated with giving Gilligan a better life by donating!

With his ball cap and designer watch, Scout has full-on dad vibes! This sporty guy will play ball with you all day long, but he may not be able to help with your taxes. In fact, Scout is in need of some financial help himself!

In another case of being struck by a car, Scout sustained a luxated hip that resulted in the need for surgery. Off to STVS he went, where he received a femoral head ostectomy. In contrast to an osteotomy where the bone is surgically cut, an ostectomy is defined as the excision of a bone or a portion of a bone. Post-op, Scout has been healing like a champ...but he has yet to find a place to call his own. Despite his funny, social personality and amazing manners, he has been in his foster home since early March.
