Youth Development at DREAM is a main way we seek to prevent the use and abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. Through youth development, teens and adolescents are given an alternative lifestyle to those negative and life-altering activities by learning leadership skills, being involved in the community, and growing together.

The DREAM youth group is a place for these individuals to come and feel safe, valued, and having purpose other than what they have many times believed to be true. As the youth grow in leadership skills, knowledge, and effects of their decisions, they are less likely to use and/or abuse drugs and alcohol.

All of the money donated to this campaign will go directly to the youth development program. Your donation will help fund community service efforts, leadership resources, retreats, tools needed to continue growing as a leader, community building events, and more. As you donate, be reminded that your money is going towards efforts to give youth hope, potential, and a future that their alternative lifestyles would not yield. They are the future, and your donation is investing in the future of this community and these individuals.

Students in our Youth Leadership Group have the desire to SERVE! They have done numerous community service activities such as: Volunteering at Southern Pines Animal Shelter and Volunteering to do face painting for children at the National AIDS Day event hosted by the AIDS Services Coalition. They have been involved with prevention media campaigns including a suicide prevention commercial which is located on our website (see link below).
They have aspirations to start programs to help younger kids and the elderly in our community. Your donation can make those things possible!
