Hands for Hope is a nonprofit in Shaw, Mississippi that is influencing the
children in our community by providing meaningful programs and experiences. You
can help us achieve our mission!
Delta Hands for Hope offers afterschool programs for middle and high school students, including leadership classes, ACT prep, Bible study, photography and oral history, and a homework center. We also encourage the youth to volunteer in Shaw and other communities.
This summer, several of our high school youth leaders decided they wanted to redo their locker room. They came together for two days and replaced missing pieces on their lockers, painted them, and cleaned the entire room. These young men did all of this to make it a better space for all of Shaw High student athletes. This was their idea, their hard work, and their success! By participating in Delta Hands for Hope, these seven youth leaders made Shaw a better place!
Our high school youth leaders are also making a difference in other communities.
This summer, 13 youth traveled to Greenwood, South Carolina to volunteer and learn from another community. During this trip, each volunteer volunteered with four other nonprofits, learned about different types of mission work, and strengthened relationship with each other. They also experienced new things, such as horseback riding, boat riding, and swimming! Your donation will help support other trips like this one, where Shaw’s teenagers learn about service, mission, and giving back!
When you donate to Delta Hands for Hope, you are helping the youth in Shaw work toward bettering themselves and their community. You are investing in the lives of the youth, and the life of Shaw.
