Known as the premier family theatre in the Mid-South area, DFT delivers outstanding quality productions while remaining family friendly. We frequently feature professionally trained actors, designers, and directors that not only enhance our shows, but also provide an opportunity for our community to learn from professionals. We offer structured internships that allow these professionals. to train and mentor our youth in their area of expertise throughout a production. To ensure that every interested student has the opportunity to attend one of our production, DFT offers significantly reduced matinee tickets for school groups throughout the year.
Our focus has been to inspire the youth of our community, we currently offer 4 summer camps for ages 6-18. Each child gets an opportunity to participate in an actual performance. Contributing to DFT would allow us to offer scholarships to youth who may not have the financial means to be a part of our camps. Theatre participation at a young age has been shown to build confidence and a positive self image.
