Daring to Own Your Story Max Peterson Scholarship

Max Peterson was a giver. He believed in his daughter's dream to create retreats to bring women, who are blind, together for empowerment and connection.

A fundraising campaign for Oasis Center for Hope

The Oasis Center for Hope is preparing for their sixth retreat for women, who are blind/visually impaired/newly diagnosed with an eye condition.  Thirty-five women from across the country have come to Bountiful and Park City, Utah to connect, learn, dare and leave empowered through our Daring to Own Your Story TM Retreats.  Lasting friendships have been formed as they connect on shared experiences and build new memories together.  Becky Andrews, LCMHC, and blind from Retinitis Pigmentosa started these retreats with the hope of bringing women together to share in new adventures and support one another in the 'arenas in their lives.'  Her dad, Max Peterson was one of her biggest fans and truly helped her believe to Dare to Own Her Story.  He passed away in June 2018.  This scholarship was created to help support women who   would like to attend.  You can read more about the retreats at:  Oasis Center for Hope - Retreats
