For more than eight years, the Coyote Brotherhood has provided a place for South Dakota football alumni to reconnect with teammates, stay engaged with the university and lend their support to the program and today’s student athletes.
The Brotherhood’s bond and commitment to paying it forward is exemplified by the hundreds of thousands of dollars members have raised to support various projects in coordination with USD Athletics. Most recently, the Brotherhood raised over $309,000 for the Locker Project which was part of the massive renovation of the west side of the DakotaDome.
This year, the Brotherhood is issuing another call to action to support of the following projects:
Football Video Coordinator | $15,000
This part-time, graduate assistant level position will support Coyote football by producing practice and game film for coaches, players and support staff. Financial support will enable the coaching staff to recruit strong talent for this important role. The staff hopes to have this position filled ahead of the 2024 spring practice season.
Summer Meal Program | $85,000
In 2023, Coach Nielson introduced an enhanced summer meal plan including two dinners per week for all members of the team including walk-on players. In 2024, the coaching staff hopes to expand this program to four meals per week for all members. Summer meals ensure players have access to quality nutrition and team bonding opportunities, while also reducing the cost of food for players during summer access training.

The Coyote Brotherhood was established to include all former Coyote Football players and coaches.
Our Purpose
We are focused on creating a social network to support the special bond between former players and coaches. We have spent the last seven years promoting fellowship, fun, camaraderie and the continuation of the family of Coyote Football alumni, "The Brotherhood."
