IMPACTING TEENS IN MEANINGFUL WAYS THROUGH CONNECTIONCOMPASSION AND CONFIDENCE

This Giving Tuesday, The Alive Center is raising funds to provide Connection, offer Compassion, and instill Confidence within our local youth.

Jordan King, 17, a teen advisory board member, states, “The Alive Center has created a sense of community for me. I feel like I belong here. The people and environment are so welcoming and inclusive. I have formed many great relationships here.  I am constantly learning here and that is something I truly value.”

Kira Morris, 16, an Aurora teen said, " I come to Alive because I like being in a place that is fun and creative! I get nervous very easily, but when I'm here I don't feel as anxious. I interact with a lot of fun people: I can play video games, board games, draw, paint and express myself creatively!"

We have $30,500 in matches on the table for this special day! This means that every dollar you donate, will be doubled on this day only!

Thank you to our generous donors who have provided these amazing matches!

- Jim & Barbi Hayes $10,000

- Rick & Carol McNeel $10,000

- Dwight & Ruth Yackley $5,000

- Tuk Tuk Naperville $3,000

The increased social isolation and stress caused by the pandemic has taken a toll on our youth.  Our teens need more connection with peers and compassionate adults, less screen time, and a safe space to be genuine.

We know that what prevents suicide, depression, drug abuse, isolation and anxiety in our youth is building stronger, more resilient kids.  Study after study has shown that this is done through connection.

This is exactly what we provide at Alive! Young people can connect with one another, with positive role models, and with themselves as they explore their interests and passions, learn, grow, and gain skills for dealing with stress, anxiety, and adversity.

Our after-school Teen-Led, Teen-Driven (TLTD) programs not only offer healthy distractions and the chance to make new friends, but also the opportunity to foster leadership for our high school teen leaders.

Will you help us to connect more kids this year by donating to our 2021 Giving Tuesday Campaign?  We are truly grateful for your support! THANK YOU!

Giving Tuesday 2021:  IMPACTING TEENS IN MEANINGFUL WAYS THROUGH CONNECTIONCOMPASSION AND CONFIDENCE

We are excited to share that we are ____% of the way there!

Will you help us reach our fundraising goal of $61,000 by sharing this campaign with your friends and colleagues?

Your support will ensure local youth in Naperville and Aurora will continue to find connection with their peers, are supported by compassionate adults, and increase their confidence through new learning opportunities during Alive's free after school Drop-in programming.

Your gift on GIVING TUESDAY 2021 will make an impact and create lasting change by reaching kids NOW, when they need it most, and lift them up.

Thank you for finding the compassion in your heart to connect with our teens and help provide them the confidence they teens need to re-engage with life post Covid-19!

With gratitude,

The Alive Center Staff & Teens
