Save Calmeca Academy's After School Arts Program

We need YOUR help to save Calmeca Academy's After School Arts Programming! 

For the past five years, Changing Worlds has implemented cultural dance and visual art after-school residencies at Calmeca Academy, a low-income elementary school located in the Brighton Park neighborhood. 

Changing Worlds provides Calmeca’s 2nd-5th grade students with 300 hours of daily arts instruction by professional teaching artists during the entire school year in African dance and visual art at no charge to the students or school.

A loss of funding means this vital programming is at risk. 

HELP US RAISE $5,000 

What Your Donation Contributes To:

$15 = field trip costs for one student

$60 = an African drummer for one class

$75 = teaching artist services for one class

$125 = a professional development day for one teaching artist

$200 = field trip bus transportation

$500 = art supplies for the semester

Art has been amazing, learning new skills and learning more about ourselves. I know the art program will keep progressing each year and I am really proud of myself and I have Ms. Solís [Changing Worlds’ teaching artist] to thank.
