Lucky Orphans would like to introduce you to Charisma!
Charisma is a Paint mare, born in 2002 and became a Lucky Orphans herd member in 2008.
Charisma came from Stuyvessant, NY, with her daughter, Envy and 3 other horses. She was a brood mare for bucking horses. What this meant for Charisma is that every time she had a baby, humans took them from her.
This broke her trust and ability to trust in people; therefore, the only way to get her on the trailer to bring her to our farm was to have her follow her 3 week old baby. Although Envy can now be handled and even ridden, Charisma still will only trust a few select people, and only on her terms. In time she has developed a special bond with one of our volunteers, Willow.
