Lucky Orphans would like to introduce you to Livingston Appeal aka Casper.

Casper, aka Livingston Appeal is a Thoroughbred gelding, born on April 27, 2008. At his very first race at the age of 3, he broke his right knee on the starting gate, which ended his career. He was tossed around from home to home after that, which led to him being at a training barn where they were trying to retrain him as a riding horse. But with his broken knee, he was not sound enough to be ridden.

He came to Lucky Orphans in the summer of 2013 with pain and swelling in his knee, and a broken-spirit. When he met Danielle, a double amputee with two prosthetic legs, his spirit was lifted as they shared a common thread. Danielle was searching for healing and found it in Casper.

This story supports all that Lucky Orphans represents, healing for horses and humans. Today Casper is enjoying his retired life, loves his visits from Danielle and LOVES to be groomed by children.
