Give the gift of sound

A fundraising campaign for 171 Cedar Arts Center

Our goal is to raise $1000 to use toward new sound equipment to support performance arts education at 171. 171's sound system is 20 years old and inoperable.

Help us support Giving Tuesday - a global day of giving where communities come together to support what matters most to them!

We hope you will join us in making a gift to 171 Cedar Arts Center! Our goal is to raise $1000 for new sound equipment to support performance arts education. 171's sound system is 20 years old, and in desperate need of an upgrade!

A key component to 171 Cedar Arts Center's mission is promoting performance in the area. Unfortunately, the sound system in the Drake Studio Theater has not been updated since being installed in the late 1990s.

171 has been able to bring unique and provocative performance to Corning from a locally staged production of Hairspray that we co-produced with Centre State Community Theatre to the recent one-woman show by Penny Sterling, Spy in the House of Men. Performances at 171 also include music and dance student recitals and special guest performers like the recent concert by Gareth Pearson.

We believe an update to our aging sound system is key to growing performance and performance arts education at 171.
