Support bringing Atkinson Center research to Washington to inform policy decisions

A fundraising campaign for Atkinson Center for a Sustainable Future

Responsible decision-making about our country’s future is nearly impossible without accurate scientific knowledge, especially when it comes to the sustainability challenges we face as a nation.

Yet, in a year that saw catastrophic weather, forest fires, and drought caused or exacerbated by climate change, the very meaning of the word “fact” no longer seemed to be an agreed-upon fact.

But these devastating events are fact.

And while the federal government continues to slash support for vital research and agencies, the Atkinson Center is providing fact-based expertise to fill this knowledge gap while partnering with influential non-governmental organizations and industry to deliver scalable, sustainable, real-world solutions.

But these devastating events are fact.

Yet, in a year that saw catastrophic weather, forest fires, and drought caused or exacerbated by climate change, the very meaning of the word “fact” no longer seemed to be an agreed-upon fact.

The Atkinson Center educates government stakeholders about the importance of science's role in informing policy and provides sustainability expertise to national thought leaders.

Just on of the many examples: On November 8 of last year, Fellow Douglas MacMartin testified in front of the Energy and Environment Subcommittees of the House of Representatives’ Committee on Science, Space and Technology on the promise geoengineering to mitigate climate change.

Your gift allows Atkinson Center research to reach Washington decision makers through conferences, policy briefings, meetings with legislators, and other events.

Now, more than ever, your support is needed. Every gift truly makes a difference.
