Bring Professional Opera to York, PA

Do you value classical music? Do you recognize the importance of engaging young people in positive educational experiences? If so, join us!

A fundraising campaign for Opera Susquehanna

We are bringing opera with full orchestral accompaniment to York, PA! We are building careers in the arts. We are contributing to the local economy. We are providing opportunities for the teens of our area to be engaged in positive, skill building activities. We would love for you to join us on our mission!

My name is Leah Crowne and I am a York resident. My husband Scott and I founded this company in 2016 with the dream of providing classical vocal music to York, PA. Scott is professor of piano at Gettysburg College and a free-lance opera conductor. I am an free-lance opera singer and private voice teacher. We have settled here in York and love it!

This summer we are thrilled to bring a team of thirty-two young, emerging professional opera singers along with ten master teachers and a full orchestra to downtown York. We will be engaging five teen interns who are York natives. They will receive singing lessons, drama classes and will work backstage during the shows.

During the fall, we will be offering an opera workshop. This class will be free of charge to teens in York County. Our goal is to teach transferable skills that can be used on the stage, encourage greater focus in school, enhance college applications and help students gain confidence.

We will also perform at York's favorite venues and events including the York Fringe Festival, the Downtown York Halloween Masquerade Ball, Creek Side concert series and more.

We need your support! Help us to reach our goal of $5,000 by May 3rd!
