It takes a village…four simple words that hockey families and enthusiasts tend to live by. The bonds formed among players, coaches and parents in these hockey villages last a lifetime.

A member of Ithaca Youth Hockey Association’s village needs your help.

Dave Blakeslee…father, son, brother, coach, and friend has been diagnosed with a rare cancer that requires extensive medical care and travel.

Dave is a self-employed local business owner, compounding the emotional and financial burden of his illness, particularly now during this unsettling time.

As a coach for IYHA (Ithaca Youth Hockey Association) for over twelve years, Dave volunteered countless hours for the love of the kids and the game. His drive, passion and commitment were second to none. Each season he instilled in his young players life lessons including a positive attitude, unselfishness, community and a never give up mantra. These traits are certainly helping Dave and those close to him fight this illness.

Please join IYHA in giving back to an incredible coach who has made an impact in the lives of so many young hockey players and their families. Together, we can help Dave beat his toughest opponent yet.
