BJM Women's Rights Field Trip 2018!

A fundraising campaign for Beverly J. Martin Elementary School

Scholars in all three 4th grade classes at Beverly J. Martin Elementary (BJM) are excited to visit the Women's Rights National Historical Park in Seneca Falls on June 8, 2018, as part of their social studies curriculum and human rights research!

These fifty students will explore the Wesleyan Chapel and Elizabeth Stanton House, examine museum exhibits, see the "Dreams of Equality" video, and discuss the relationship of the women's rights movement to the anti-slavery movement.

Admission is free so we are raising funds for bus transportation, plus books and posters to bring the learning back into the classroom!

Please help us make it possible for all these scholars to visit a historic site that we are fortunate to have so close to Ithaca!

Thank you,
Ms. Chandra Clark, Mr. Robert Graham, and Ms. Ann Kolodji

P.S. If you prefer to donate by check, please send one made out to "BJM PTA" with "4th Grade Field Trip 2018" in the memo line and mail to Larry Cutler, BJM Elementary, 302 W. Buffalo St., Ithaca, NY, 14850.

The fieldtrip was awesome!

June 18, 2018

The fieldtrip went really well--the students interacted with history and art exhibits, toured historic houses and sites, talked to the rangers, and watched a documentary! See photos of the adventure below. And thanks again from all of us for making this experience possible for these emerging leaders! Anneliese

Thanks for the new books!

June 17, 2018

BJM 4th graders and their teachers were so excited to open the box of books on Friday that they had ordered with your support! They want to say THANKS SO MUCH for supporting their learning about women's rights and gender studies!

Check out these pictures of Ms. Clark's and Mr. Graham's classes with the new books that they will enjoy for the rest of this school year and next year too because 4th graders loop and have their teachers for another year!
