Is that an experience you wish you had?
That is the gift we will give to every scholar at Beverly J. Martin Elementary School in Ithaca, NY, at our 2018 Bookfest on May 3rd!
We are hoping to provide our students with a diverse selection of high-quality, brand new books. To make this possible for each scholar, we need your help!
A donation of $7 gives the gift of a new book to a child. A donation of $112 provides new books to a whole classroom, and $400 will buy books for a whole grade level!
A donation of any amount will help pave the way for a lifelong love for reading.
Thank you so much!

THANK YOU to all of our donors and fundraisers for meeting the goal of a book for every scholar at BJM on May 4th!
We’re still basking in the glow of the 2018 BJM Bookfest, a day of recognizing and celebrating the joy and power of reading. In case you missed the fun, here are just a few of the highlights:
A whole-school Drop Everything and Read;
Teachers (and some students) dressed up as book characters;
Scavenger Hunts;
Impromptu poetry w/ Dr. Esch;
Reading marathons;
A day-long schedule of guest readers from the community;
The Bookfest Bookstore where students selected a book from nearly 50 titles ranging from biographies, science, multicultural stories, and some funny favorites;
Impromptu drop everything and read throughout the building and community.
You made this dream come true and it means so very much to the students, teachers, librarian, staff, and families! Your support means our scholars know that they matter. You have shown that the community near and far supports their deep thinking, their reading, and their exploration!
Thank YOU for being a critical part of the BJM story of success,
Dr. Esch

Here's a photo of some sorted books we bought, ready to be handed out to waiting students. Quite a number of choices and preferences.
