Project Coyote protects North America’s wild carnivores & promotes compassionate coexistence through education, science, advocacy, and coalition building.

Thanks to the collective support of compassionate wildlife advocates across the country, we celebrated our 15th anniversary in 2023! 

We have created powerful change for wild carnivores in those fifteen years; we've changed laws, shifted policies, and raised public awareness to choose coexistence instead of killing. Last year alone, we: 

• Banned wildlife killing contests on public lands in Oregon alongside fellow wildlife advocates 
• Banned wildlife killing contests across the state of New York
• Petitioned the USDA to adopt comprehensive regulatory framework for their Wildlife Services program and phase out inhumane killing methods 
• Launched our #CaptureCoexistence campaign, uniting over 2,800 wildlife photographers in opposition to wildlife killing contests
• Defended Montana’s wolves in court against the state’s aggressive wolf hunting and trapping policies
