WHY GIVE?
Every year, dozens of CUNY students, from undergraduates through Ph.D. candidates, conduct grant-funded research in the ASRC's state-of-the-art facilities to discover new frontiers and solve urgent societal problems. However, grants do not cover 100% of our students' needs. Additional funding from private donors (like you!) supports our students in the ways grants do not cover.
“…it was an absolutely amazing experience… this conference truly inspired me to continue my career as an independent researcher!”
The above quote is from our very own Priyasha Deshpande, a Ph.D. candidate from The Graduate Center in the CUNY ASRC's Structural Biology Initiative, who was able to travel to Switzerland for the Gordon Research Conference on Intrinsically Disordered Proteins this past June thanks to a privately funded travel award. Private support increases the accessibility of hard science for students from diverse backgrounds, further nurturing the STEM leaders of tomorrow.
Via awards, stipends, and fellowships, every dollar raised from this campaign will directly support student innovators at the CUNY ASRC.
