Arcade returns to the second summer of Arcade at the Oasis! Bigger than a building and better than ever, our second venture outdoors will bring audiences joy, laughter, and a sense of community in downtown Pittsburgh where we left it. 

The 2020 season of Arcade at the Oasis:

• Brought 24 shows to live audiences

• Showcased 104 local artists 

• Entertained 555 patrons 

• Ran from August to November 2020 

  
  

From warm Comedy Cookouts, to nights with performers in puffy coats and propane heaters in the audience, the Oasis welcomed the public to a dynamic, reimagined outdoor performing arts space to enjoy improv, stand-up, drag, music, family programming, comedy classes, and more. We can’t wait to get back outside again for 2021 with weekly entertainment, starting April 18th!

Your support of the Arcade at the Oasis program helps support paying local artists, educators, and producers for performances each and every week this season and will improve our technical setup to bring audiences elevated and affordable outdoor entertainment in the Cultural District. We want to provide the safest environment possible for our artists to return to their craft, and the opportunity for Arcade’s guests to come together for laughter, community, and comfort. This requires an increase in operational expenses for cleaning supplies, safety equipment, costs incurred due to a flexible return policy, and safety signage, all while selling a reduced number of possible seats for patrons during a reduced number of weekly shows from our previous 9 shows each and every week prior to the COVID-19 shutdown. By supporting the Arcade at the Oasis program, you’re supporting innovative, in-person, socially distanced artistic opportunities in your local community during a time when laughter is needed the most.

Whether you're attending an outdoor show or class, or are more comfortable tuning in for one of our online shows or workshops, we hope you'll continue supporting Arcade by donating to this page. The impact of Arcade's temporary COVID-19 closure since March 13th, 2020 is immense, as Arcade is a bustling comedy community full of performances, events, classes, and rehearsals each and every week. The revenue lost from cancelling over 600 events in 2020 has drastically impacted the theater’s ability to sustain operations at the level needed to cover rent, utilities, staff salaries, and artistic production expenses. Your financial support is critical to the continued health of the organization through this unimaginably difficult time for nonprofit organizations across the country.
