About the Organization

Family Promise of Ontario County

Family Promise is more than shelter—we are hospitality in action. Our over 700 volunteers in Ontario County are companions to families, sharing meals, community connections, and compassion so families can focus on achieving their goals.
Over 40 congregations and service organizations come together to provide individualized, person-centered, trauma-informed care. The relationships between family members, volunteers, and staff stabilize families who have been living in crisis while keeping the whole family together.
Guests receive case management, transportation and education classes to get their finances, health and housing in order. An evening meal, overnight accommodations, and breakfast are offered by volunteers at the hosting congregation of the week. Most families stay with us for about 9 weeks before moving on to permanent housing and we continue Case Management for another year to be sure their housing is sustainable.
Our goal is to help families overcome the obstacles in their life so they can achieve economic stability and their children can access a brighter...
