Adventure Girls!

Let's give Boston's girls the opportunity to be EPIC!

Adventure Girls is a unique year-round program that takes at-risk Boston girls between the ages of 10 and 14 on monthly outdoor excursions ranging from kayaking to rock climbing, to explore new activities and interests they would not otherwise experience, push them outside their comfort zones, enhance personal growth, engage in leadership development, build positive interpersonal relationships, and promote physical health and well-being.

Many of the young women in our program rarely have an opportunity to leave the city and be outdoors, spending their whole lives in urban environments. Experiences like hiking, skiing, and canoeing are inaccessible and cost prohibitive; as a result, a generation of girls is growing up unfamiliar with nature and an outdoor lifestyle, leading to a range health issues including physical inactivity and obesity. Adventure Girls gives these young women an opportunity to explore the outdoors and take on new and unfamiliar challenges; it pushes urban girls beyond their comfort zones while promoting leadership and personal development, communication and teamwork, and self-empowerment.

Your donation will help us fund field trips for activities such as hiking, snowshoeing, and white water rafting, totally new experiences for many of our participants. Every dollar donated helps a young woman unlock her true potential, strength, and confidence, and learn she can overcome new challenges!
