Volunteerism is a powerful force for solving community problems, a creative use of human resources, and essential for a healthy, productive, and engaged society.
The Community Service Day, hosted by Volunteer Alexandria in partnership with the City of Alexandria, is a service event where hundreds of volunteers come together as individuals and as teams to complete 20+ service projects for nonprofits across the City. From building vegetable gardens to alleviate food insecurity, to sorting food at a food bank, to landscaping a shelter, every hour contributed on this Community Service Day improves the lives of Alexandrians.
Supporting Community Service Day as a fundraiser or as a donor will help
Volunteer Alexandria recruit, coordinate, manage, and prepare volunteers to
give their time and talent to local nonprofit agencies in need of human
capital. Your support allows these nonprofits to focus on their missions of
conquering Alexandria's great community challenges with the assistance of
ready, willing, and able volunteers.
