Alana’s Journey to a Brighter Future 

Born prematurely with Peters’ anomaly, a rare eye condition causing blindness, Alana (pictured here) faced challenges from her very first breath. Early surgeries and therapies were just the beginning of her journey. 

Through early intervention and the caring support from Beyond Blindness, Alana has blossomed into a confident, curious toddler who loves to sing nursery rhymes and explore the world around her.  

At Beyond Blindness, Alana spent time in the early childhood classrooms on campus, learning and growing in an inclusive environment that gave her the support she needed to thrive. Her physical and occupational therapies help her overcome obstacles and achieve developmental milestones.
