We are in the midst of our annual appeal for year end giving. Home is truly the gift that keeps on giving by providing stability to families for many years to come.
In 2008, Liberty Conde made a decision that changed her life forever. She packed her bags, said goodbye to her five year old son, and traveled to the United States to begin her journey in search of a new life for them- a life which would lead to opportunity, to safety, and to a better future.
Shortly after she was contracted to work in the United States, it was discovered that the company was fraudulent and it dissolved. Liberty was abandoned with no resources, no income, and no way back home. It took Liberty nine years to finally be reunited with her son, who at this time was 14 years old.
All of these years, Liberty knew that God had a plan, “I knew that God would not make a promise in my heart and not keep it.” This year, the promise of a home was fulfilled as Liberty joined the Habitat for Humanity program as a partner family.
