An Extraordinary Year.
An Exceptional Community.
It takes a village to raise a child, support families, and transform a community.
If there’s ever a time in recent history to truly need our village, it’s been this year.
Navigating a global pandemic has been extremely challenging, to say the least. It has severely impacted our community, and unfortunately, the Covid-19 infection rates and deaths continue to rise. Inequities such as food insecurity, lack of educational attainment, trauma, and poor environmental health are magnified, further straining the community.
As an organization and as a community, we’ve had to reevaluate and realign, but most importantly, we’ve had to rely on each other—our colleagues, our partners, our friends, and our neighbors. Schooling has changed; needs have changed; programs have changed, and services have changed. However, our commitment to the success of the children and families in Homewood is unwavering. We have and will continue on our path to improve the lives of Homewood’s children, support families, and transform a community.
With this year coming to a close, we present our annual end-of-the-year campaign. While we ask for donations during this time to assist with our Covid-19 recovery efforts, we also want to recognize that your support is more than just a financial contribution; it signifies your belief in who we are and what we do. By giving your support, you become a part of our village.
We also want to use this as an opportunity to acknowledge all of the hard work in hard times and the dedication to the community in a year that has been nothing but extraordinary. We want to thank the team for adjusting, pivoting, working while at home, and delivering food for all that they do for HCV and the community. Likewise, we want to recognize our board members for their time and attention, support, and advisement, and other partners and community members who’ve supported the community and our efforts along the way. And to the children and families, thank you for showing up, for giving us feedback, allowing us to help out, and being a part of our village.
