The CUNY Latin American Law Student Association sponsors academic, cultural, social, and community service activities to strength the presence of Latinos in the legal profession. LALSA serves as a liaison between its members, the administration, the student body, alumni, and professionals in the field. LALSA also works to increase the number of Latinx students at CUNY and to ensure that students receive support to achieve success.
The proceeds raised from this event go towards summer scholarships, which provide students with an opportunity to participate in public interest work over the summer months. Last year, we were able to provide LALSA scholarships to four students. We hope to raise even more this year and, as a student board, we aim to achieve our goal in a number of ways. Any donation goes a long way into helping student scholarships.
We are grateful for the many ways CUNITY has contributed to the LALSA Fellowship, as these contributions allow us to minimize costs and maximize proceeds for student scholarships.
