Step up to the plate to get good food on everyone's tables!

A fundraising campaign for Oxford Community Market

Today we distributed a record amount of food to our friends and neighbors in need through our Harvest Angel Project. We are asking for you to partner with us to keep this market working hard in 2019 to make local food accessible to everyone in our community!

Here's the breakdown of how much food we distributed through Harvest Angel today:

300 lbs. Sweet Potatoes
75 lbs. Collards 
85 lbs. Carrots
50 lbs. Tomatoes
21 lbs. Peppers
30 lbs. Rice
60 Bunches of turnip and mustard greens
120 Loaves of homemade bread
15 Dozen fresh eggs
6 lbs. Jalapeno peppers
75 Jars of local honey 
75 Bunches of fresh herbs
15 Bunches radishes 
15 Bags of salad mix
3 Crates mixed greens

Food was distributed at the Oxford Food Pantry, UM Adopt A Basket, Canterbury Crest and CB Webb Apartments.

Oxford Community Market is a weekly farmers market with a mission to make healthy, local food more accessible to all people in our community, especially those facing barriers of cost and transportation.

The purpose of the Oxford Community Market includes, but is not limited to, addressing food insecurity in Oxford, Mississippi. Its goal is to increase access to fresh food for local and regional community members. The Community Market connects growers and producers with customers, delivering affordable, regionally grown and nutritious foodstuffs.
