Family-owned and operated for four generations, Western Technical College began as a trade school where people could learn how to take their passion and turn it into a career they loved. Since 1970, our real-world approach to education is one of the many reasons Western Technical College graduates find success in their careers. We are always looking for ways to make education more than just words in a book. What is special about Western Technical College is the manner in which we help our students achieve their educational goals—a combination of hands-on experience, traditional classroom work, and industry-specific career development.

Why We Serve
The skills gap is real and with employers continuing to have difficulty filling job positions due to lack of qualified, skilled talent, Western Tech decided to partner with the Paso Del Norte Charitable Foundation to establish the Western Tech Scholarship Fund. Established in 2017, the Western Tech Scholarship Fund is to provide additional resources for training and education to current and prospective students.
For the 2018 El Paso Giving Day, our focus is to promote technical training to graduating high school students in order to increase the skilled labor that will be available for our industry partners. Western Tech has strong industry partnerships with over 100 employers nationwide, who continuously recruit our graduates. At Western Technical College, we provide the best instructors, who will present our students with real-world experience. It is this experience, combined with modern facilities and industry-specific equipment that will prepare our students with relevant skill sets that they can use on their very first day on the job. Western Tech’s programs of study are endorsed and certified by the top-recognized industry organizations and are providing exclusive training opportunities for our students.
Why Support the Western Tech Scholarship Fund
Western Tech already provides hundreds of local high school students scholarship opportunities. Western Tech would like to expand the scholarship opportunities to local high school students, surrounding area high school students and all other interested high school students in the state of Texas and beyond.
Western Tech will be matching a portion of the donations from El Paso Giving Day.
