2018 4-H Urban Summer Scholarship Support Needed

4-H seeks community support to help us continue to provide an affordable and fun Summer Program for all youth wishing to attend regardless of ability to pay.

2018 SUMMER SCHOLARSHIPS

The 4-H Urban Outreach Program has offered a Summer Program for youth in Tompkins County for over 10 years that costs just $10 a day.  Due to wide spread budget cuts, we lost major financial support in 2018 that helped us offer an affordable Summer Program. This year, over 50% of families registering youth to attend the Summer Program need financial scholarships.

We are seeking support from the community to help us continue to provide an affordable and fun Summer Program for all youth wishing to attend regardless of ability to pay. Please consider sponsoring a child to attend. Tuition is $225 for all 5 weeks (100 hours of programming and nutritious snacks).  Youth read, play, explore Science and STEM activities, make art, cook, create tie dye shirts and hoola hoops, take field trips every week, go to the public library and have healthy and nutritious snacks every day.

The Summer Program begins on July 9th and Runs through August 9th, Monday through Thursday from 11:30 to 4:00PM.  We coordinate bussing through the Ithaca City School District to and from the program from West Village, Cedar Creek and Linderman Apartment Complexes and Summer School.
