Raising needed funds is only part of the reason for the walk. Raising awareness about mental illness and decreasing the stigma surrounding it, are just as important. NAMI York County uses these funds to train employees and volunteers who then provide free education to family members, students, veterans, peers, and the general public about mental illness.
NAMI believes that mental illnesses are physical illnesses that affect the brain, and with treatment, most individuals can lead a productive and happy life. For over 33 years, NAMI York County has worked tirelessly to advocate for, support, and educate people with mental illness and their families.
You can help NAMI York County carry on its mission by becoming a sponsor or making an in kind donation for this year’s walk. In kind donations are used as prizes, give-a-ways or a silent auction. You can also show support by encouraging your employees to form a team and walk with us.
I hope we can count on you to support this worthy
event. National Alliance on Mental Illness York County is a 501(c)3
organization. Our EIN #80-0382284.
