The GiveGab team dedicates time every month to create impactful and robust additions to the GiveGab Fundraising Suite made available in our monthly product updates.
Let’s dive into some of the most notable updates made to our platform in September.
Giving Days are 24-hour (or longer!) digital fundraising challenges where organizations, schools, and hospital foundations can rally their supporters together to raise funds for different initiatives.
More Efficient Year-Over-Year Transitions
We are always striving to create a better user experience for our partners as they plan and coordinate their Giving Days with GiveGab. These Giving Days are typically annual events, meaning that our partners are using our same tools year over year.
Although a lot can change from one year to the next, popular prize offerings may remain consistent or only need a few tweaks. Previously, our partners manually entered prizes within their Partner Dashboard every year, even if they were the same from their prior Giving Day. This could sometimes seem redundant and time-consuming, especially since our partners are already busy making important decisions around their day.
New this month, our partners are able to copy prize information over from any of their previous Giving Days within the Prize section of the Partner Dashboard. This offers a more streamlined user experience for our partners and saves them time! Partners will still have the ability to add, delete, and edit prizes within the interface after copying over previous prizes. See it in action below!
Better Represent Matching Funds
Your Giving Day site should keep visitors engaged and excited about the progress of your day and the success of your participating groups and organizations. We work to do this in several ways, such as the rolling ticker on the Giving Day homepage, robust leaderboards, and our TagBoard integration.
To create a more engaging experience, we have added a progress bar to our Sponsor Matching functionality. Now your site-wide match or a match created by a participating organization will update in real-time, showcasing the impact that donors have made to amplify their gift and support a mission they care most about. Learn more about Sponsor Matching here.
More Enjoyable Payment Experiences
Giving Day donation forms will now display ‘mobile payment’ as the default option at checkout if a donor is on a device that supports mobile payment, making it even easier for them to give.
Improved Search Performance
This month, our product team dedicated time to enhance the search query performance for Giving Day sites, improving the user experience for donors searching for their favorite cause to contribute to.
Customizations Added to Donor Advised Funds
A donation minimum can now be put in place for gifts made through Donor Advised Funds. Our DAF functionality is typically used by Community Foundations that manage these accounts for their donors year-round and want to offer convenient ways for them to give back during the event. Learn more about our Donor Advised Fund functionality here.
Platform-wide updates refer to any changes made that apply to Community Giving, Giving Day, Crowdfunding, and Peer-to-Peer Fundraising functionality. These updates ensure that our platform remains robust and unified to create a seamless experience for all using GiveGab.
Increased Gamification for Peer-to-Peer Functionality
It is important to recognize the impact that Peer-to-Peer (P2P) fundraisers are making for your organization as they raise donations and support on your behalf. It is also critical that we make their experience on our platform fun and enjoyable to ensure they are engaging with their network throughout the entire campaign.
We have done this by creating a functional and friendly P2P fundraiser toolkit where they can manage their profile and help spread the word about your organization’s initiative. Within the toolkit, they are encouraged to complete tasks in order to ‘unlock’ stickers. A new sticker has been created to show gratitude to P2P fundraisers who have given through their own campaign.
Clearer Account Messaging
It is important that we are keeping our platform secure and that we are protecting our users from fraudulent activity, such as an unauthorized log-in to a user’s account. However, there are times where a valid admin may lock themselves out of their account due to too many failed log-in attempts.
To alleviate some confusion around this, we have updated the ‘locked out’ message that users will see from “Your account is locked” to “Your account has been locked for 1 hour. Please check your email for unlock instructions.” This allows the organization admin to take actionable steps to regain access to their account, and also alerts them of any fraudulent log-in attempts.
GiveGab’s Donation Forms allows organizations to create a completely custom and embeddable donation, registration, and RFI (Requests For Information) form integrated into their website.
Greater Payment Schedule Transparency
Within our ‘Payment Schedules’ tool for recurring or split donations, users have the ability to edit gift amounts, suspend payments, update billing information, and more. When changes are made to a donation, it can affect the way you communicate and cultivate the donor. It is also important to keep a clear record of these changes so that your organization can review or revisit it at any time.
New columns such as “Update Description” and ‘Update Type’ have been added to ‘Payment Schedule’ Reports allowing our clients to add in further details around each update. Knowing why an update was made, who it was made by, and when, will make a significant impact on your organization’s ability to keep an organized and efficient schedule log.
Updates to Reporting Tools
There is now a consistent naming convention across all report types for columns, ‘Billing Fist Name’ and ‘Billing Last Name’ within the Donation Forms platform. Previously, Financial Reports listed this same information as ‘CC First Name’ and ‘CC Last Name.’ By having these column names the same across all of our reports, our clients have better clarity of the information presented, resulting in our reporting tools being more in sync.
The ‘Answer Records’ category of data is now available for the ‘Payment Schedule’ report type allowing clients to pull in donor responses to form questions for more detailed reporting.
We have added additional fields to ‘Last Known Update’ to filter ‘Payment Schedules’ by ‘Update Type’.
