#GivingTuesday, a global day of giving back to the organizations that need it most, will be here before you know it! You can make the most of this giving celebration by following these four steps:
1. Prolong Your #GivingTuesday Campaign
Use #GivingTuesday as the start of your campaign, and then continue to run the campaign through the end of the year. Remember that more money is donated in December than any other month. In fact, 31% of all annual giving takes place in December.
Make sure to create a campaign around a specific initiative. Give your supporters a compelling reason to donate on #Giving Tuesday. Make them feel proud about giving to your organization, which will give them a reason to share it on social media, which could turn into more donations!
2. Establish Your Peer-to-Peer Fundraisers
Line up some Fundraising Champions to act as P2P fundraisers for your campaign. Your board members and your volunteers can give you the BEST holiday gift this season.
Remember that Fundraising Champions are your best bet for amplifying your message and getting more donations. These Champions are sharing your fundraising campaign throughout their networks, which will ultimately introduce more people to your organization!
3. Provide Great Content
Plan, organize, assemble, and create some amazing content by way of:

Before #GivingTuesday arrives, come up with a Timeline for Where and with Whom you’ll be sharing this content. For example, share a testimonial on Facebook at noon and share a photo with your Fundraising Champions in the morning so they can use it in their own outreach throughout the day!
Get a Sponsor for #GivingTuesday
Is there a local business in your community whose values align with your own? If so, ask them to sponsor your #GivingTuesday campaign by matching all donations (or perhaps donations made between a specific time period).
Let them know that it would be great press for their business as you could mention them on social media throughout #GivingTuesday as a sponsor. It’s also an awesome incentive for your donors who will feel like they have a greater impact if they know their gift is being matched! 🙂
